Lakshadweep the smallest Union Territory comprise of captivating group of coral islands amidst the Arabian Sea. This archipelago consists of 12 atolls, three reefs and five submerged banks.

Kavaratti

Kavaratti the most developed island in Lakshadweep is the headquarters of the Administration. This island is dotted with about 52 mosques and Ujra Mosque is the most beautiful one. It is believed that water of a well near the mosque has healing properties. The beautiful and calm lagoons are ideal spots for unwinding. Island also offers hosts of for water sports.

Marine life enthusiasts can visit the marine aquarium, which has an excellent collection of aquatic specimens. The multi colored underwater life in the lagoons can be viewed through glass-bottomed boats.


Kalpeni

Coral debris along the eastern and southeastern shorelines is a unique feature of Kalpeni. It is believed that a violent storm in 1847 threw up huge coral boulders along these shores. Socially a very progressive island, it was here that the girls first went to school. Island offers hosts of activities such as swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, boating (sailboats or pedal boats) or indulge in reef-walk in the vast lagoon.


Minicoy

Minicoy The second largest island in Lakshadweep, Minicoy is an isolated from the main group. It has a cluster of 11 villages with beautifully decorated and maintained houses. They are called "Ava'h" each presided over by an elected village elder called 'Bodukaka' to who is bestowed with the power to manage village affairs. It is culturally quite distinct from its northern cousins.

On the southern side Minicoy has one of the largest lagoons with a small uninhabited island called Viringili is hub for various tourist activities. Being very important center for tuna fishing, Tuna canning factory, 300 foot tall light house built in 1885 are some very important landmark of Minicoy.


Kadmat

One the most beautiful island in Lakshadweep Kadmat is an eight kilometer long island only 550 meters broad at its broadest point. Its beautiful shallow lagoon, long sandy beaches, sand banks offer hosts of activities from lazy sun tanning sessions to exciting water skiing, kayaking, sailing. It is one the hottest diving destinations in India, variety of fishes like rays, sharks, and clear water with visibility of 20-50 meters makes it an unparalleled dive destination for scuba divers.


Agatti

Gateway to Lakshadweep Agatti is on the most beautiful lagoons in Lakshadweep.


Bangaram
