Thanjavur rose to glory during the later part of the Chola reign
between the 10th and 14th centuries, and is the home of Carnatic music,
musical instruments, dance and traditional handicrafts. Exquisite
handicrafts and bronze statues were part of the lifestyle in the past
and in the present they are the identity of this place. The beautiful Chola architecture is glorified in the temples and structures like the Brihadeeshwara temple built by Raja Rajah and the Thanjavur Palace which have withstood the test of time. Yercaud, in the Servaroyan hills, is a quiet, restful and charming hill
station where the temperature is pleasant and cool throughout the year
without the biting cold of winter. The Servaroyan Hills provide many
beautiful vistas and panoramic views, and are known for thriving coffee
plantations. Plantains, pears, jack and orange fruits are also grown
here while flowers of all varieties flourish. Within Yercaud, the
Yercaud lake, the Anna park, Lady's seat and the Servaroyan Temple are
places of interest
